Winyl

An audio player's search function may be fast and effective, but it can not help you if you feel like listening to a certain music genre or playing songs from a certain period. Besides finding your audio tracks, Winyl can organize them in various categories. The best part is that you only need to select your music folder and the application will do the rest.

Winyl is freeware and you can use it on Windwos XP and later editions, up to Windows 8. It can be downloaded and installed in a few moments and you don't need powerful hardware to run it.

Audio files can be loaded by dragging and dropping them over the user interface, but a more efficient way is to add folders to Winyl's music library. If you add one or more folders to the library, the software will sort your music automatically. You can find various categories, like artists, albums, genres, years and others, in a tree structure, on the right side of the interface. Songs are listed on the left side, along with the album's cover art.

You may create multiple playlists, in the same tree structure and populate them with audio tracks or live radio feeds. Winyl includes a series of smart lists as well. Depending on which list you select, the software will display 50 random tracks, 5 random albums, recently played or top rated music. You may create your own smart lists, on a separate window. The program can be set to select tracks or albums from a specific category, according to various criteria.
